My favorite!

I love this moisturizer. It's the perfect year-round weight — absorbs quickly and doesn't irritate my skin at all.

Disappointed with the NEW moisturizer packaging

I echo Kay’s review below - this was my holy grail for moisturizers and loved the glass bottle - didnt bother me as much that i wasnt able to get the product out of the bottle completely. In fact, i simply unscrewed the cap and used the length of the pump’s tube to get to the bottom of the glass jar. Please consider brining the glass bottle back. Plastic tubes are not a good solution to the issue of not being able to get the moisturizer out.

Really Disappointed

I'm really disappointed that this was reformulated and then put in a plastic tube. I loved that it was in a glass bottle, and loved the previous formulation and ingredients. It was alcohol free, and had fewer ingredients, and was PERFECT for my extra sensitive skin. Shea butter was higher on the ingredient list. Guess I will have to find another moisturizer, and this was my holy grail. Not sure why they would do this but okay.

Hi Kay, thank you for your review, and I'm sorry you were disappointed with the recent changes! We changed our moisturizer to a tube after consistent feedback from customers over the years that they were unable to use / get out all the product from the glass pump. After doing several internal tests, we found that pumps with the glass bottle gave way with about 25-30% of the product in the bottle. The viscosity of the formulation was simply too thick to effectively come out with a pump and glass bottle packaging. We appreciate you that were able to work around this but that challenge was what drove our change in the packaging!

On the formulation front, the key change we made was to replace Sodium Benzoate as a preservative system. We did this to as it's a synthetic ingredient and we wanted to offer a 100% plant-derived product, and we heard increasing stories of benzoate allergies. We modified the formula to try and keep the same absorption and lightness while using a 100% plant-derived preservative system.

Our updated formulation does have cetearyl alcohol, which is a plant-derived wax and not the same as traditional alcohols which can dry out your skin. Byrdie had a great article about the ingredient here: https://www.byrdie.com/cetearyl-alcohol-for-skin-4707730

Again, we're sorry that the changes didn't work out for you, but we wanted to shed a bit more light on why we made them!

the best!

this is the only thing that works for my reactive, dermatitis prone skin. it really is calming, helps with moisture and doesn't cause breakouts. i put it directly on my forehead which is my troubled area. thank you for making the best products! <3

Wanted to love it

This moisturizer felt great and was very hydrating, but those with acne prone skin should be careful. I used it for a few months and started developing closed comedones all over my cheeks (where I never get them) and my chin. I thought it was from wearing a mask a lot, but I stopped using this moisturizer and my skin cleared up 2 days later after months of this issue. I think it must be from the coconut oil, so do not use this if you are sensitive to coconut oil. It is hydrating though, so I’m using the remainder as a body lotion.
